Purpose
The purpose of this admissions policy is to establish how the setting will register children into the setting.
Accessibility
It is our intention to make our pre-school genuinely accessible to all children and families from all sections of the local community. In order to do this we will:
• Ensure the existence of the pre-school is widely known in all local communities. We will place notices advertising the pre-school in all sections of the community can see them.
• Describe the pre-school and its practices in terms which make it clear that it welcomes both fathers and mothers, other relations and carers, including child minders and people from all cultural, religious and social groups, with and without disabilities.
• Make our Equality and Diversity policy widely known.
• Consult with families about opening times of the pre-school to avoid excluding anyone.
• Continue to consult with local parents to ensure that the group goes on meeting the changing needs of the local community.
• Take children in nappies, providing nappies and wipes are supplied.
Priority of Admission
If we have more applications than places we will use the following to prioritise the admission of children. The waiting list will be arranged by;
• Date of Birth (oldest first)
• Children referred to the pre-school from other agencies because of family need or vulnerability.
• Children attending Priory Primary School
