Butterflies Pre-school Parental Involvement
Parents are the first educators of their young children. The aim of the pre-school is to support parents in their role. We will:
- Involve parents in shared record keeping about their own child, both formally and informally, ensuring that parents have access to all written records on their own children.
- Ensure parents are given information on a regular basis about their child’s progress and have an opportunity to discuss it with staff
- Ensure that parents have opportunities to contribute from their own skills, knowledge and interests to the activities of the pre-school
- Ensure that all new parents are aware of and can contribute to the group’s systems and
- Ensure that parents are fully informed about open evenings and training
- Consult with parents about times of training & meetings to avoid excluding
- Hold meetings in venues, which are accessible and appropriate for all
- Make known to parents the systems of registering queries and complaints or suggestions
- Provide opportunities for parents to learn about the pre-school
The above will be done through open evenings, open door policy were parents are free to talk to members of staff about their own child, the parents rota, introduction booklet, newsletters and the pre-school notice board and parents forum.
